A gemologist unwittingly frees an evil genie that plays deadly tricks on her friends and acquaintances. The demonic djinn attempts to grant its owner three wishes, which will allow him to summon his brethren to earth.
This is the story of a "genie of the lamp" turned horror. It does not matter what a person wishes for, the djinn will turn the wish into something where you are tortured or you just die. He is more of a demon than anything else. He is just a well spoken demon that will collect your soul after granting your wish. He is just evil.
The make-up work in the movie was good and bad. The costume for the djinn looked a bit bland to me. I would have wanted him to be larger than life. Like it was in the Aladdin cartoon. I wanted the Evil Jafar genie of the lamp. That would have looked really cool, if it could have been done. Other than that, they did what they could for the time. The death scenes looked really cool, not all of them. Some were a bit stupid. That is just how many horror movies are made.
The movie itself is not that bad at all. It is worth watching at least once. You might even want to watch at least this one more than once. Enjoy.
