In 1960s New Jersey, Doug drops out of college to devote his energies to the rock band he founded in high school, much to the chagrin of his father. When Gene, the band's lead singer, has a mishap that temporarily knocks him out as frontman, Doug takes over. The band's new sound is a hit with the crowd, leading to Gene's ever-increasing resentment. Meanwhile, Wells, another bandmate, struggles with the group's reach for fame.
This movie was flat as hell. I thought maybe it was going to be one of those cool movies that went nowhere, but it was just ego filled. The main character thought way too much of himself. I know guys like that. They are the star and the rest of the band was just there to support him and follow his lead. They are the nightmares. That is what this movie is really about. This young man that starts back up his high band, so that he can be a star. He has his pretty groupie girlfriend and his ego.
The movie was a bit of a bore. You just sit and watch this little man working and trying to be bigger than he really is. He wants the crowd and lives to be famous. That is all this movie is really about. One man taken over a band just for himself. The story was not that interesting, at least not to me.
The cast for the movie was good. James Gandolfini was the best in the movie. The rest were just okay. Not much about the movie at all was really outstanding.
This is one of those movies that I would not recommend at all. It is just not worth watching at all. It seemed like the movie was never going to end. The movie was so flat that not a bit of it was really interesting. I watched it, so you don't have to.
