Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990)

Director: Joe Dante

Stars: Zach Galligan, Phoebe Cates, John Glover, Robert Prosky, Robert Picardo, Christopher Lee,
Dick Miller

The magical collectibles store that Gizmo calls home has just been destroyed, and the tiny monster finds his way into a newly erected skyscraper. Billy Peltzer and his bride-to-be, Kate, who have previously dealt with Gremlins run amok, discover that Gizmo and an impish legion of reptilian pals are inhabiting the downtown building. The couple tries to stop the creatures from escaping into New York City, but this new batch of beasts might be uncontrollable.

I know this one is not near as good as the first one, but this movie was still pretty good. This sequel was not needed at all, except they were looking for another cash cow that did not pay off. The location of the movie was changed to New York City in an office building, where Billy and Kate are now working. One thing leads to another, and it all happens all over again. We get the sequel.

This sequel is over the top. There are tons of Gremlins in this movie. They wanted it to be over the top with how different each one of the Gremlins were from one another. They really went out there with the different creations. My favorite one was the Gremlin spider. It was such a freaky thing to see. It was already a creepy little Gremlin, but now it is part Black widow. That is nothing but frightening.

I really did like this movie a lot. I know it was a bit of a flop, but it is so worth watching just for the fact of the Gremlins. I loved it. If you have never watched this movie, then you need to go out and do that. Enjoy.
