A black comedy/drama about a lonely ice-cream van driver, Warren Thompson, and his unhealthy obsession with television soap starlet, Katey George.
This man is nothing but a nut job. We all have known someone like this in our life time. You at least went to school with a guy like this. He is just sad and lonely with his only entertainment being the television and magazines. He lives in a diluted fantasy world where his favorite actress wants to be with him. He confesses his hopes and loves on video, but we do not know why he does this.
I have never understood the obsession with celebrities. Some people really believe that they know their favorite actor, like they chat with all of the time. They are total strangers that you know nothing about, except what you read and believe in the tabloids and other magazines. In this movie, Warren really thinks that he is going out with favorite actress. He is just lonely obsessed and confused. It is really sad in a way when your mind turns on you to make you believe falsehoods.
What an odd movie. This is a B-movie from Australia. I know a B-movie, but this one is really worth watching. It may be difficult to find a copy, but if you do then you need to watch it once. It is well worth it. Enjoy.
