Skiptrace (2016)

Director: Renny Harlin

Stars: Jackie Chan, Johnny Knoxville, Bingbing Fan, Winston Chao

Hong Kong detective Bennie Chan has been tracking notorious crime boss Victor Wong for over a decade. When Bennie's young niece Samantha gets into trouble with Wong's crime syndicate, Bennie must track down the only man who can help him: fast-talking American gambler Connor Watts. Bennie races against the clock to bring Connor back to Hong Kong and the unlikely pair embark on an entertaining and perilous adventure from the snowy mountains of Mongolia to the windswept dunes of the Gobi desert.

This movie was made to try and reboot both Jackie Chan's and Johnny Knoxville's careers. I'm sure that they were both hoping that this movie would really put them back in the spotlight. They tried to have the whole American white funny man in an Asian action movie. This type of duo has been done many times in movies. The combination is normally hit or miss. In this movie, it was not good or bad.

The cast was what you would expect in an Asian action movie. Jackie Chan was his normal in this movie. He was funny with all of the action stunts in the movie. The main difference was that he no longer performs all of his stunts, since he has gotten older, but he still has the showmanship like he had in his other movies. Johnny Knoxville's was this funny nice douche bag that only really thought of himself. We are used to seeing him with his normal bunch from Jackass. It is just still odd to see him in a movie without the rest of the crew. The two men worked well together in the movie, and they were fans of one another. They could ever work together again, but I think it would still not be a big hit. This movie just kind of sat there. The rest of the cast was really good, but let's just be honest. People only watched this movie to see Jackie Chan and Johnny Knoxville in a movie together.

The story of the movie has been done in so many action movies in America and in Asian countries. A man is going to save a young girl from a mob boss or something of that nature. The story has been done to death, but for this movie it was still a good movie. I mean it is not the best movie by far.

This movie is not that bad. There were some pretty funny parts to the movie. It is worth watching at least once. It is not the best movie, but you may really like it. Enjoy.
