Director: Tom Savini

For reasons unknown, the recently deceased are rising from the grave as flesh-hungry zombies. Fleeing from the undead horde, a small group of survivors, including Barbara, Ben and Harry, sequester themselves in a remote farmhouse. With the zombies outside the house multiplying, tensions flare, as the group argues over the best way to escape their increasingly dire situation before they are overrun completely.
This is one of the best remakes ever. George Romero's movie was amazing and groundbreaking for horror movies. The movie make-up expert Tom Savini directed this wonderful remake of the horror classic. This is one of the best remakes ever. Yes, it needs to be said again. Like I always say, if you are going to do a remake, you need to make it better and over the top of the original.
The cast was better for this movie. They seemed more real and active. Barbara in this movie was a bad ass bitch that got herself together and was able to kick ass. She was awesome in the movie. We get Tony Todd playing one of the main roles in the movie. This is the one that launches his into horror movie, and he never really gets out of them. We are glad for it. He was great in the movie. The whole cast really was. I liked this cast a lot. The characters were tougher for the most part.
The zombies or living dead were still the slow walking rotting people, but they looked great and real. I mean, since a great make-up man was directing the movie, you know the special effects make-up is going to be great. He is not going to let any bad work slide.
This movie did not do that well at all when it was released. It just shows the taste in the masses, it's bad. This is a great movie. It still stands up today with all of the fast moving and running zombies in movies today. This remake is better than all of those newer movies. Watch this movie, if you have not seen it. It is so well worth it. Enjoy.
