Director: Kevin Reynolds
Stars: Joseph Fiennes, Tom Felton, Peter Firth
Follows the epic Biblical story of the Resurrection, as told through the eyes of a non-believer. Clavius, a powerful Roman Military Tribune, and his aide Lucius, are tasked with solving the mystery of what happened to Yahshua in the weeks following the crucifixion, in order to disprove the rumors of a risen Messiah and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem.
Most people at least know the story of the resurrection of Jesus Christ or they have heard of it before at some point. For those of you that do not know, it is the reason Christians celebrate Easter. The movie tells the story of the people that crucified Jesus and His follows that stood beside Him through all of the judgment and His death.
There are some great performances in this movie. Joseph Fiennes was great as Clavius. You could see his character's inter turmoil that was really starting to come through toward the end of the movie. Tom Felton is such a good bad guy. It is like he was just drawn to play bad characters throughout his career.
The sets for the movie literally look like the movie was filmed in Jerusalem. Every building looked authentic. The look of this entire movie was really impressive. The only down fall of the movie was the pace. It was slow too many times. It seemed like the movie was taking forever to get done. I was hoping that there would be some excitement in the movie, but there was not that much at all. This movie was telling the story of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. There needed to be more in this movie. Just saying.
The movie is worth watching, but it just the speed of the movie that really hurts it. Watch the movie to see what you think of it. Enjoy.
