When her young daughter is turned into a zombie and attacks her father, Ana just manages to escape, only to realize her entire Milwaukee neighborhood has been overrun by the walking dead. After being questioned by cautious policeman Kenneth, Ana joins him and a small group that gravitates to the local shopping mall as a bastion of safety. Once they convince suspicious security guards that they are not contaminated, the group bands together to fight the undead hordes.
It is like I always say, if you are going to do a remake you better make it better than the original. Something like that, but anyway. This was such a good movie. It was more violent and more bloody than the first one, and that is saying something. The first movie was bloody awesome, but this remake took the movie to an even darker place. I was so glad that they kept most of the movie in a mall. That made the movie a good remake.
The cast for the movie was good. They tried to throw some smaller names in the movie, but the cast did not really have the pull to make the movie a success. It was the movie itself that made this movie. They just could have filled the entire cast with talented nobodies, and the movie would have probably still be really good.
The special effects for the movie were great. There was more blood and gore for those hardcore horror fans out there. The addition of the zombie baby was the icing on the cake. I loved it.
This is a great remake to watch. I don't say that often. The creators went above and beyond to make a great remake for the fans of the movie. I think that this is a movie that needs to be added to a horror collection. It is worth it. Enjoy.
