Aliens (1986)

Director: James Cameron

Stars: Sigourney Weaver, Michael Biehn, Carrie Henn, Paul Reiser, Lance Henriksen, Bill Paxton

After floating in space for 57 years, Lt. Ripley's shuttle is found by a deep space salvage team. Upon arriving at LV-426, the marines find only one survivor, a nine year old girl named Newt. But even these battle-hardened marines with all the latest weaponry are no match for the hundreds of aliens that have invaded the colony.

This was one of the best sequels made. Normally the sequel to a movie is about the same or worse than the first. This movie went far and beyond the first movie. It was incredible. The first movie only had one alien in it, but it was enough to scare audiences for that time. The second chapter has lots of aliens with the entrance of an Alien Queen that does nothing but lay more eggs to produce more and more aliens. This poor team has no idea what they are walking into. It makes for a great movie.

This enormous nest of aliens that are on this colony make this movie a complete success. It is not just one alien chasing the team around. It is this huge group of them. They cannot get away from them. All of this took a lot of work to make this look so good. The special effects work on this movie was absolutely top notch. Each one of the aliens look great. None of the aliens seem like a puppet at all. You did believe that all of this was real. It all looks that good where it all looks real to the viewer. You see more of the artwork that was created by H.R. Giger. The aliens have taken over by aliens, and they made the colonies into their own home.

The cast for this movie got even better than the first movie. Of course, Sigourney Weaver came back for her role, because no one else could be this character. Paul Reiser is great as the selfish corporate whore. He is normally a nice guy in movies, but this movie he was just scum. Lance Henriksen will show up to any movie. His has to be the longest movie credit for a living person.  Bill Paxton is great in whatever that he does. He just has this presentence on the scene that is so genuine.

Wonderful sci-fi and horror movie sequel. There was not a movie that came out in that genre in that time that was better. This is a box set to own. It is so well worth the price for what you get. Enjoy.
