God's Not Dead (2014)

Director: Harold Cronk

Stars: Shane Harper, Kevin Sorbo, David A.R. White, Dean Cain, Willie Robertson, Korie Robertson, Paul Kwo

After he refuses to disavow his faith, a devout Christian student must prove the existence of God or else his college philosophy professor will fail him.

This movie had some good points to it, but it also had some really bad points to the movie as well. I am not going to sit and bash this movie just because it is a Christian based movie. There are already too many of those out there to start with. There is no reason to kill the movie just based on its religious beliefs.

First of all, I do not believe that any professor or instructor would make their students sign off on belief of God. They might not have a job after trying something like that. They are there to teach, and not push their own personal beliefs on to their students. That part is way too out there, but I am sure that there is one ass out there that has tried it.

Second, they made atheists out to be cold hearted evil people. That is not true as well. In the movie there was one extreme to the other. One is not perfect and completely good, and the other is not entirely bad working on killing other's belief. That does not happen.

Third, if two people are very faithful to their religious beliefs, then they should not try and get involved with someone on the opposite side of it. She was just stupid for getting involved with him in the first place. That was just really dumb.

Lastly, if you are a fan of the Christian rock Group, The Newsboys, then you will really like this movie. They do the entire soundtrack for the movie. The music was not that bad though.

I was just really glad that there was nothing said about gay people at all in this movie. It made me like the movie a little bit more. It was not that preachy for a movie. It was about a movie to make a point about how American Christians are being left out of society.  They are the ones making everything an issue. Going out of their way to separate themselves from the rest of the country. They are the better  than anyone else in God's eye. It is an attitude that makes me sick.

This was a movie worth watching, but it is not a great movie. It is watchable though. You may want to give this movie a chance. Enjoy.
