The Purge: Election Year (2016)

Director: James DeMonaco

Stars: Frank Grillo, Elizabeth Mitchell, Mykelti Williamson

It's been two years since Leo Barnes stopped himself from a regrettable act of revenge on Purge Night. Now serving as head of security for Senator Charlie Roan, his mission is to protect her in a run for president and survive the annual ritual that targets the poor and innocent. But when a betrayal forces them onto the streets of D.C. on the one night when no help is available, they must stay alive until dawn or both be sacrificed for their sins against the state.

Here we are with another Purge movie. This one explains more and hits closer to the truth more than you will realize. You see the anger in the characters in this movie, then you look at all of the anger that we have all over this country. People are showing how they really feel about one another. It is not good at all. The hatred that fills the air everyday all day. These feeling are keep bottled up because there are punishments that the government and state that will throw at you for  murdering a person. In this movie all of that punishment is gone for 12 hours one time a year. Do you not think that will happen in real life?

All it takes is one old white man (we all know that is who it will be) to make all of this for real in this country. This movie was released on the year of an election year for the Presidency of this country. You watch this movie and see how people are acting during the purge. People are acting similar to that now after the election. People are crazy now. We are seeing how people really feel and act deep down inside.

The movie itself is better than the last one, with the inclusion of the government aspect of the story. It was like it was something that was really happening. It is just a little crazy to me that it could happen or that it has happened in the past. Who knows? It made for a great story no matter what.

The characters were well written for this one. The owner of the store was a person that you knew in your life that you really like growing up. You really like and respect in life. Those three spoiled brat teenage girls are the one you want them to die, horribly. Their car was the coolest that I have seen in a movie. It was really awesome.

I liked this one better than the other one previous. This one had more of a story, than one night a year people get to kill and destroy whatever they want. That all the one previous was about. This one is worth watching. Enjoy.
