A spaceship that looks like a circus tent lands in a field near a small town, signaling the attack of deviant, red-nosed, balloon-twisting psychos from another world who plan to annihilate mankind by turning people into cotton candy! Luckily, the town's teen citizenry decides to fight back and teach the cosmic bozos a lesson.
This was the ultimate B movie that became a cult hit. This is one of those movies that was advertised for the Mtv audience. You saw ads for the movie a lot on there, also in magazines. This movie was not made to be a big Hollywood horror blockbuster. It was a comedy horror movie that was made to be a bit silly. It work out so well. This was a great fun movie.
I loved the clowns in this movie, and I do not like clowns. These are killer clowns, so that makes a difference. They looked so good. There were so many different shapes and sizes of the clowns that you never got bored with them. I wish they had made action figures of them when the movie came out. They still could make them. They different ways that the clowns killed and captured people made the movie even more fun to watch. It all made sense, because they were killer clowns.
The cast could have been anybody playing these parts, but they were good and silly. John Allen Nelson as the cop was way too serious. He was over the top playing this part. It just did not fit, but it worked well with John Vernon being really serious as the chief. He just hated kids, and he blamed them for all of the trouble.
I love this movie. It is silly and funny. There is nothing scary at all about this movie. If you have never seen this movie, then what are you waiting for. It is one to add to your private collection. It is so worth it. Enjoy.
