David is a man who has just been dumped by his wife. To make matters worse, David lives in a society where single people have 45 days to find true love, or else they are turned into the animal of their choice and released into the woods. David is kept at the mysterious hotel while he searches for a new partner, and after several romantic misadventures decides to make a daring escape to abandon this world. He ultimately joins up with a rebel faction known as The Loners, a group founded on a complete rejection of romance.
One of the most interesting movies to come out that year. I was amazed by how well this movie was made. I loved this story. The sad part is that the story is a reflection of our modern day society. We do not like single people in this world. People look at single people as if there is something wrong with them. Single people are pushed aside from the other families. This movie just takes the idea even further.
The cast for the movie was good and solid. I think that Colin Farrell is a decent actor. This was, in my opinion, his best role to date. I was just really impressed with him. John C. Reilly went back to his indie roots with good acting, instead of acting like a silly over grow child. The rest of the cast filled in everything else that was needed. They all blending in so well together without over powering one another.
This movie is not for everyone. It is a great movie, but it is a bit slow at time so you just need to stick with it. If you get a chance to watch this movie, then you should watch it. It may make you think. It is a deep movie. Enjoy.
