Stars: Kevin Bacon, Radha Mitchell, David Mazouz, Paul Reiser
Peter Taylor, his wife Bronny and their two children return to Los Angeles after a fun-filled vacation to the Grand Canyon. Strange events soon start to plague the family, including young son Michael's increasingly erratic behavior. The Taylors learn that Michael brought back some mysterious rocks that he discovered inside a cave. Unfortunately, something followed them home as the clan now find themselves in a battle with a supernatural force that preys on their worst fears.
This movie had a small twist on the story of Native American gods haunting a little boy, instead of the devil doing it. Other than that, it was like many other movies where a young child is being possessed or haunted by something other worldly. This movie's story has been done too many times over and over. This one was better than most though. It was not that bad of a movie. It is not great at all.
I think how this movie made it was that Kevin Bacon was the star of the movie. The acting in the movie was pretty good. The special effects were decent. The images of the spirit gods looked pretty cool, and the black hands prints were flat out creepy.
This movie was really about that kids need to leave stuff alone and stay around their parents. If it wasn't for that, then none of this would have happened to them. There you go.
The movie is worth watching once, but I do not really see it as a rewatcher, but some of you may disagree. That is fair. Enjoy.
