Doom (2005)

Director: Andrzej Bartkowiak

Stars: Karl Urban, Rosamund Pike, Dwayne Johnson, Richard Brake

A team of space marines known as the Rapid Response Tactical Squad, led by Sarge, is sent to a science facility on Mars after somebody reports a security breach. There, they learn that the alert came after a test subject, a mass murderer purposefully injected with alien DNA, broke free and began killing people. Dr. Grimm, who is related to team member Reaper, informs them all that the chromosome can mutate humans into monsters and is highly infectious.

There was such a little short story to this movie that it was not even funny. This movie is based on a video game, so what did you really expect from it. I was not expecting much at all. It was just some moving pictures flashing in front of my eyes. I mean it was not that bad, but all that it was is a shoot'em up movie. I know it is an action movie, but come on, they could have done better.

On an upside, the special effects in the movie were really good. The creatures and undead running around the place looked great. They were a bit scary, especially for small kids, but it is too violent for them. There are just so many gun shots and bullets flying all over the place that is a bit ridiculous. It is more of an action movie than anything else.

The movie looks really good, but it is really a story that has been told several times in slightly
different ways. It has become an old story for movies. It is worth watching once, but I do not think that it is worth rewatching it, at all. Enjoy.
