Don Jon (2013)

Director: Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Stars: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore, Tony Danza

Jon Martello objectifies everything in his life: his apartment, his car, his family, his church, and, of course, women. His buddies even call him Don Jon because of his ability to pull "10s" every weekend without fail. Yet even the finest flings don't compare to the transcendent bliss he achieves alone in front of the computer watching pornography. Dissatisfied, he embarks on a journey to find a more gratifying sex life, but ends up learning larger lessons of life and love through relationships with two very different women.

He is so full of himself that it is not even funny. Guys like this are the biggest losers that there are in the world. They love themselves more than anyone or anything. They just suck. You watch this movie, and you get to see how his father act, then you see partly the reason why he acts the way he does. The father acted like a male pig as well. He was opening checking out his son's girlfriend. There is nothing more trashy than that. It was gross, but there are a lot of people that do act that like that.

Barbara was the worse of the movie. She thought way too much of herself. She knew that she was really pretty and had the right body, but her hang ups were just too much. I mean who gets that upset over the fact that their partner watches porn. That is the craziest thing that I have heard. I guess it must be a female thing, because men do not get upset by someone watching porn. She lost her mind over it. It could have been worse. He could have been caught getting it from a male little person. It could always be worse.
Julianne Moore was really good in this movie. It was good to see her back to the roles that she can pull out. I was just so surprised to see Tony Danza in this movie. I was so glad that he was still working, and he looked good for his age. He still has that tight body. I know most men his age wish they had that body.

The was a well made movie with Joseph Gordon-Levitt doing the triple threat, starring, writing and directing. It is hard to do all three in a movie. Most of the time there are terrible movies. This was not one of them. If you have not seen this movie yet, then do so. It was much better than I thought it would be. Enjoy.
