In the near future, as America virtually loses the war on drugs, Robert Arctor, a narcotics cop in Orange County, Calif., is undercover so deep that he has become an addict. He is wooing Donna, a dealer, to ferret out her supplier. At the same time, he receives orders to spy on his housemates, one of whom is suspected of being Donna's biggest customer.
Here is a movie that was created by a great director, Richard Linklater, who has made some great movies. This one was just not as good. The story was just too much dull pointless conversations that tried too hard to be over people's heads. It was like the story was trying to be better than most people, so only the very "in the know" people would get it. It was like talking down to a general audience. I am not a big fan of that, maybe when I was younger and did not know better.
Now the look of this movie is wonderful. The animation over the film worked out so well in making this movie something to really. It was just too bad that the story was not as interesting enough to hold a better audience. The movie was mainly something neat to have on in the room where you do not have to really pay that much attention to it. You can have other conversations while "watching" the movie.
This is another one of those movies that is worth watching once, just to see it. It is cool to watch, but it does not have a really good story to it. It was a bit too dull. It even had a great cast, but that just could not even save this one. Enjoy.
