Capt. Jack Sparrow arrives at Port Royal in the Caribbean without a ship or crew. His timing is inopportune, however, because later that evening the town is besieged by a pirate ship. The pirates kidnap the governor's daughter, Elizabeth, who's in possession of a valuable coin that is linked to a curse that has transformed the pirates into the undead. A gallant blacksmith in love with Elizabeth allies with Sparrow in pursuit of the pirates.
Disney turns one of its most popular park rides into a big budget action/adventure movie. If there is anyone that could do it, then you know Disney can. This was an all out expensive action movie for the whole family.
The production of the movie was top notch. You could really tell that they put a lot of money and time to make sure the look of the movie was just right. While watching the movie, the detail in all of the background scenes created the environment to really make you believe that all of this is really happening.
The special effects in the movie are amazing. It is close to being flawless. In one of the fighting scenes when the characters are moving in and out of the moonlight, they are changing from normal to their skeleton remains. The scene is movie so fast, but I could not tell that there was a mistake at all.
The look and performances in this movie are great. It is a movie that you can watched with your entire family. It is a good movie, but it is not one of those that will change your life in any way. You may want to go to one of the Disney parks to ride the ride, if you have never done that. Enjoy.
