Neighbors (2014)

Director: Nicholas Stoller

Stars: Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, Zac Efron, Dave Franco

New parents Mac and Kelly move to the suburbs when they welcome an infant daughter into their lives. All goes well with the couple, until the Delta Psi Beta fraternity moves in next door. Mac and Kelly don't want to seem uncool, and they try their best to get along with frat president Teddy and the rest of the guys. However, when the couple finally call the cops during a particularly raucous frat party, a full-scale war erupts.

This movie was exactly what I thought it was going to be. Let's see and show how uncool these new parents are compared to these stupid frat morons. For one thing, a fraternity would not be allowed to move into a house in an area that is not zoned for it. There are laws against that kind of thing.

If you are a fan of cheap jokes and being petty to each other, then this is a movie for you. This movie is filled with bad quality and bad taste. The jokes are bad because the writing is bad. It watches like this is what a bunch of high school jocks want to see in a movie. It was written for that type of audience.

The cast was the biggest problem in the movie. I guess Rose Byrne needed the money for something, because she is always good in movies. She can act. Seth Rogen is almost the same in every single movie. It is like he is always portraying the same character. It just gets more annoying more than anything else. Dave Franco is still not that good of an actor. He is another one that thinks he is really funny, but he just is not. He is better than his brother at times.

Now the real reason that anyone else watched this movie was that Zac Efron was in it. When they were making this movie, all over the internet were pictures of him wearing an unbuttoned-shirt or shirtless. There was so little said about the actual movie. It was all about his body. That is why he has the career that he does. It is not his talent. If he was chunky and ugly, he would be working retail.

This movie is barely worth watching once. It is painful to sit though. I know there will be several people that will disagree with, and that is perfectly fine. I watched it, so you don't have to.
