When their plans for an exotic vacation fall apart, unmarried couple Brad and Kate must spend Christmas Day trudging around to a quartet of family get-togethers. While Brad counts the hours till he can escape the onslaught of crazy relatives, Kate begins to wonder about her own choices and ponders whether her family members are so crazy after all.
This was a weaker Christmas movie, but it was worth watching once. I mean who does not issues with some family member that you only have to deal with on the holidays? It is something that so many of us have to deal with every year. This couple has been escaping it until now when it all goes wrong. Here is the odd part of the movie is that the couple really did not know one another very well. They had been together for three years, and they did not much about each other's childhood and background. That just seemed really odd to me. How in the hell does stuff like that not come up in a conversation in three years. It is not very grounded for a story.
The best part of the movie was the cast. there are some great actors in this movie. I mean some great talent to be in this movie. They could have made a better movie with a cast like this. The other part was the movie was not that long at all. They squeeze all of these characters in four different households in less than an hour and a half. It was just too short of a movie with all of these people being thrown at you at such a quick pace.
This movie is barely a Christmas movie. It just happens at Christmastime. It really could have taken place anytime of the year. I do not think this is really a Christmas movie. It is more just about dealing with family members. It is not a movie to add to your holiday movie watching. Enjoy.
