A little girl discovers dreams do come true if you really believe. Six-year-old Susan has doubts about childhood's most enduring miracle, Santa Claus. Her mother told her the "secret" about Santa a long time ago, so Susan doesn't expect to receive the most important gifts on her Christmas list. But after meeting a special department store Santa who's convinced he's the real thing, Susan is given the most precious gift of all, something to believe in. Her Mother just needs to be convinced.
There was really no need to remake this movie. There was nothing wrong with the original. For some reason, children cannot watch black and white movies. I will never understand that at all. The first one has been colorized, and then they just had to remake the movie. That being said, it was not a bad movie.
The cast is what I really think that saved this movie from being just completely lame and dull. They got a talented cast, but it was not too over the top performances. It was just enough to make it better than a TV movie.
They did not make any major changes to the story at all. It was just updated, so that kids could relate to it more. It is still a good story without being really cheesy. It is worth watching. It is a movie made for the whole family. Something else to watch at Christmas. Enjoy.
