Director: Amy Berg
Stars: Oliver O'Grady, Thomas Doyle, Adam
Moving from one parish to another in Northern California during the 1970s, Father Oliver O'Grady quickly won each congregation's trust and respect. Unbeknownst to them, O'Grady was a dangerously active pedophile that Church hierarchy, aware of his predilection, had harbored for over 30 years, allowing him to abuse countless children. Juxtaposing an extended, deeply unsettling interview with O'Grady himself with the tragic stories of his victims, filmmaker Amy Berg bravely exposes the deep corruption of the Catholic Church and the troubled mind of the man they sheltered.
This documentary shows how corrupt the Catholic church is when dealing with its own problems. The Church helping to cover up priest raping and molesting children in their parish is something that decades ago, people would never consider happening. Now days, people know all too well what the Church has done to these families. The parents feel like they have been victimizes as well as their children. They brought these priests into their home, and welcomed them in to only find out that their children would be harmed. It is just a terrible story that has happened to thousands of families.
This movie deals with a topic that should have never happened, but the Church let it happen. It continues to happen today. The Church will still deny most of the occurrences. This is something that all Catholics should watch, and people will small children. Watch your kids. Enjoy.
