Audition (1999)

Director: Takashi Miike

Stars: Ryo Ishibashi, Eihi Shiina, Tetsu Sawaki

A widowed TV producer is encouraged by his teenage son to remarry before he gets too old. Unable to find anyone suitable, he decides to hold auditions for a false movie in order to test out potential wives. He thinks he may have found the one he is looking for when he auditions a former ballerina, but she seems too good to be true and an investigation into her past reveals a horrific secret.

This is a horror masterpiece. The concept of the movie is scary. The acting was the best part of the movie. Eihi Shiina performance made this movie. The look on her face while she was torturing this man told her whole story. She was enjoying what she was doing so much. There was glee in her eyes. She would change the position of her body to make her work more comfortable for her. It was pretty twisted.

This movie starts out like nothing big is going to really happen, but you really have to stay with it. It will really make you think about the people that you meet, especially if they are strange to you. If you have not seen this movie, then you need to go out and do so. It is well worth it. Enjoy.
