Once the night guard at the Museum of Natural History, Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) is now a successful purveyor of infomercial products. Soon after learning that his museum friends have been shipped to the Smithsonian Institution, Larry receives a distress call from Jedediah, who warns him that four of history's greatest villains have come to life and are planning to take over the Smithsonian first, then the world. Larry joins forces with friends old and new to stop the quartet's nefarious plans.
Come on now. These movies are not award winning movies. They are made for the whole family, and that does include children. These movies were really made for kids to watch and very religious families. Let's just be honest here. This movie is made up of a lot of slapstick comedy and many scenes of things chasing other things. There is not an in depth story at all here, but that does not make it a bad movie by any means. It is still a fun movie to watch.
The acting is pretty good in this movie. You have a huge popular and talented cast to play all of these different historical characters. The most impressive part of the movie, as well as the first one, is seeing all of the statues, displays and paintings come to life. In this one, the paintings and photographs can be entered just like a door way. That was pretty cool. I just was not expecting that.
If you want to watch a movie that can be viewed in a mixed crowd, then here you are. It has something for everyone. Okay, almost everyone, there are some bigger movie snobs than me out there. This is a good fun movie to watch. Your kids may even want a copy of their own. Enjoy.
