The announcement that an enormous asteroid will obliterate
Earth in less than a month brings an end to the marriage of mild-mannered
insurance salesman Dodge, whose wife leaves him on the spot. After his bold
young neighbor, Penny, belatedly delivers a letter from Dodge's former
sweetheart, Dodge decides that he must find the love of his life before it's
too late. Dodge and Penny embark on a road trip that eventually brightens their
outlook, if not the world's.
The is a heavy emotional topic to put in a movie. The
thought of spending the end of the world alone with your owns thought racing
around in your head with no one to tell them to. That is a depressing thought.
This was a good movie just a sad topic. Would you go to work or care about what
you looked like. The world is ending in three weeks, so what is the point in
all of it.
This is a very deep and painful thought. What would you do
if you knew the entire world was about to come to an end? Would you live your
life as normal? or would you throw everything to the wind and live wild and
free for once? This movie shows people doing both. You see people loosing
control and other just working on enjoying what time they have left.
The performances in this movie are pretty good. Keira
Knightley plays the air headed confused young woman very well. She just wants
to have a good time. Steve Carell looks like his character should be, and he
acts like you would think he would almost be in real life. The role just fits
him so well.
I really did like this movie. It was so much better than I
thought it was going to be. If you have not seen it yet, then do yourself a
favor and watch it. It will give you something to think about and entertain
you. Enjoy.
