Inside a snowflake exists the magical land of Whoville. In Whoville, live the Whos, an almost mutated sort of munchkinlike people. All the Whos love Christmas, yet just outside of their beloved Whoville lives the Grinch. The Grinch is a nasty creature that hates Christmas, and plots to steal it away from the Whos which he equally abhors. Yet a small child, Cindy Lou Who, decides to try befriend the Grinch.
This movie was taken from the beloved children's Christmas. They add more to the story to fill up the time needed to make a feature film. The additions worked well. The extra singing and performance was a bit unnecessary, but I'm sure that it made some kids happy. I just thought it was too much.
The cast actually worked very well. The makeup really help by making you believe that the storybook had come to life. The creation of Whoville was envisioned just how you would think it would appear at Christmas. Everything so shiny and snowy with presents all over the place. It is a dream world for kids. The cast was great for completing the image. The building were made so much like the book. It was really like the book came to life in a way.
This is one of those movie that you may want to watch every Christmas season. I know will want to watch it. Enjoy.
