Twenty-five years later, the Chucky doll mysteriously arrives in the mail of the home of paraplegic Nica Pierce and her mother Sarah. Later that night Sarah is found dead from a stab wound, and her death is proclaimed a suicide. Shortly thereafter, Nica is visited by her older sister Barb, accompanied by Barb's husband Ian, their six-year-old daughter Alice, live-in nanny Jill and Father Frank. Alice finds Chucky and, since everyone thinks that he's just a doll, is allowed to keep him. Chucky comes back for revenge for what has been done to him.
This movie was made for all of the Child's Play fans out there. I mean it would have had to been. It was released direct to market, and not really a big launch campaign for the movie. I heard about it when it came out. It was not a month or a few weeks before the release date.
This one goes back to being more of a horror movie instead of a comedy. There are no funny plots or slapstick scenes. It is a straight up horror movie. Which makes this movie a bit better in some ways than the ones before. This one is more serious. The main problem is that the connect to this movie and the last one was a stretch to me. I mean the other movies are mentioned, but you could put almost any two movie together in the horror and make them connect.
This one was a little better than the few before it. There was still blood and gore in this one, but the mood was a bit more dark and scary, like it should be. It was not a bad movie at all. It would not surprise me if they made another one. Enjoy.
