The Bowen's move into a new house in the suburbs. The house was perfect until soon after moving in there are things happening in the house. They have a group come to the house to try and help out with the house, but they have a poltergeist in their house instead of a haunting.
This is a reboot from the great version from the 80's. You guessed it. I was not a fan of this movie at all. I was just so surprised that a reboot was really needed for this movie. Was there something wrong with the original? Of course not. Someone always thinks that they could make a better version, and most of the time they are wrong.
The family in this remake had the same problems that the family had in the first one had. Their daughter still ends up missing, and they can only communicate with her though the TV. The house was still built on a graveyard. There is still a portal in the closet, and all hell is breaking loose in the house. The problem is that the entire movies seems like it takes place in about 3 or 4 days. It is like they just walked in, and there are items moving around. The movie is just rushed. It all happens at once it seems. There is not much of a moment of rest in the movie. It would work if the movie was worth it, but it is sadly not worth watching at all. They even tried to make the clown doll scarier, but no, just not even close.
If you have never seen the original one, then yes, by all means watch this one. You will not anything to compare it too. If you are like most people and have seen the good one, then I would not recommend this movie at all. It was just a failed attempt at trying to make money off a name and title. That all of this crap movies are about. I watched it, so you don't have to.
