After Fat Amy accidentally exposed herself on stage at the Lincoln Center, the Barden Bellas have almost killed all chances to compete in the International competition, but they found a loop hole. They get to represent America, but there is a group from Germany that wins every time. Now the Bellas have to pull their group together, get focused and work together. One of the problems is that Beca is working on earning a career of her own outside of the group, but no one knows about it.
The sequel played out a lot like the first one. You have a singing group in trouble and they have to come together and work hard to win the competition. It is so much like the first, but this one was funnier, and the cast was so much bigger and better. I really do not think that the movie needed all of these big comedic names in the cast, but it might have help the movie along a bit.
The real stars of the movie are Rebel Wilson and Hana Mae Lee. These are the funniest of the entire movie. The other actors seem to be trying too hard, but these two are just throwing the lines out to the audience where you want to be friends with them. You want to hang out with them. Rebel Wilson delivers her lines with the right amount of timing that it looks like she is making it all up. Hana Mae Lee has some of the best lines in the movie. Who would have thought that she would be the funniest of the movie.
This movie is watchable, but the story is still the same. I liked it. I do not think I would watch it again. There is just no appeal as a movie to rewatch, but if you are into group singing and a young girl, then you will watch this over and over. Enjoy.
