Jim and Lauren go on a blind date that goes terribly wrong, and they never want to see each other again. They both take their family on vacation to South Africa, when his boss lets him have the vacation he planned for himself and Lauren's business partner. The two families start to hit it off after all of the fighting and arguing is finished.
This movie was so much better than I expected it to be. I am not an Adam Sandler fan at all, but the last few movies that he has done have been better than earlier in his career. I read that he mainly made the movie to go on vacation. The resort that it was filmed in would have been completely worth the price. The movie had a lot of meanish remarks thrown at each other by the main characters, but the comments were pretty funny most of the time.
The cast for the movie was great. The chemistry between Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore is always there. You can really tell that they are good friends. Kevin Nealon comes out of nowhere as a guest at the resort constantly groping his new way too young female companion. Shaquille O'Neal plays Sandler's employee's, but he is not in the movie that much at all. Terry Crews and those singers behind him got on my nerves a bit too much. It could have been left out of the movie all together, and the story would have been the same. The kids in the movie were just there. They really tried to add the feel of today's kids and how they act around their parents, but it can off more annoying than anything else.
Like I said, this is not a bad movie at all. If you are a big Sandler fan, than you will still like it , but the movie is more adult/family comedy than a frat boy movie. I say give it a chance. Enjoy.
