Mike Lane is a 30 year old man living in Tampa, Florida. He is a roofer by day and a stripper by night, but his real passion is making one of a kind furniture. Adam starts working as a roofer with Mike, and he introduces him to the world of stripping, but he cannot handle everything that comes with the appeal of being wanted by every woman in the club. He makes some bad choices.
I was very surprised that this movie had a story to it. All you ever saw of this movie was scenes of the actors stripping, and that was it. There were some scenes of the guys stripping, but it was not the entire movie. I was very glad to discover that. The only bad part of the movie was the story. They could have been cops and the movie would have flowed about the same way.
The movie had a popular cast that was mostly ignored in the movie. You got so little time with all of the characters that it did not seem to be that important to spread the money on these names. You could have gotten hot nobodies and saved the money on the movie.
This movie played out as the early story of Channing Tatum, since he was a stripper before he came to acting. Matthew McConaughey played a douche bag that screwed people over, and only wanted to be ever bigger than the rest. Joe Manganiello and Matt Bomer were the two main big names that were barely shown or talked about in the movie. Gabriel Iglesias was a nice addition to the cast, because I think he is funny, but he was not in this movie at all. He was a DJ/drug dealer.
This was not a bad movie to watch, but the hype for it made it seem to be more than it was. The story was barely interesting. It is not a bad movie to watch, but it is not one that I would rewatch. Enjoy.
