The Lost Boys (1987)

Director: Joel Schumacher

Stars: Jason Patric, Corey Haim, Dianne Wiest, Edward Herrmann, Kiefer Sutherland, Jami Gertz, Corey Feldman

Lucy moves with her two sons, Michael and Sam, to live with her father. The town has a large amount of missing children cases. Michael meets Star at a carnival, and he is attracted to her. He starts to hang out with her and her friends. They end up being vampires. Sam meets the Frog brothers who inform him of the vampire problem in the area. They try to keep Michael from becoming a vampire.

This movie was a rock n' roll MTV vampire movie for the 80's. The hot young actors were cast in the movie to get the MTV audience. The movie was gritty and dirty with sex appeal loaded all through it. The soundtrack to the movie was a huge hit. There were several different music videos made from the soundtrack, so it was all over MTV for a year or more. The videos were played so much that it was as if you went to go see the movie. It was all over the place.

The cast was top for the day. Jason Patric was a hot young actor who sadly has almost disappeared from the movies, but his brooding eyes and mouth placed him as a new sex symbol in this movie. Kiefer Sutherland was still working on becoming a big name in the business when he did this movie. He was another sex symbol from the movie. This movie had the beautiful Jami Gertz as the love interest. She was absolutely beautiful in this movie. This was the first movie where you get the pairing of  Corey Haim and Corey Feldman. The two will star and become the best of friends for life.
The look of the movie was gritty and beautiful at the same time. The whole look of the sets and some of the actors were dirty looking, but the cast was beautiful at the same time. It gives that gritty hot look that was popular in the 80's.

This is a movie that needs to be owned, not just watched on the telly. The movie is great and dated, but it it well worth the viewing. If you have not seen this movie, then I don't know what you are waiting on. Do it! Enjoy.
