As a young boy, Peter Quill, was stolen by a UFO from outside the hospital where his mother had just passed away. As an adult, Quill now goes by the name of Star-Lord, a theft for the love of money and adventure.  After stealing a special orb for a buyer, Ronan the Accuser has sent a team of men to collect the orb as well. A bounty is place on his head, so Rockett and Groot and looking to collect the money, and Ronan has sent Gamora to collect the orb. When they all create a disturbance in a city, they are all sent to prison. They from a team with another prisoner, Drax, to break out of prison and stop Ronan from destroying a planet.

This movie was so much better than I thought it would be. I was expecting another thrown together movie about a comic book series just for the money. I was so glad I was completely wrong this time.
The creation and the special effects in this movie look real. It still blows my mind on how well an environment can be created by a computer program. It looked like you could visit these planets on vacation next summer. The different ships were amazing with every single detail included just to create this story and force the audience to believe in the magic.

The cast was so much better than I would have expected them to be. The only downfall of the cast were the voices of Groot and Rockett. They could have gotten a good no name voice actor to be the voice, but no, they had to get two big named actors for the voices. It was unnecessary. That was my only real complaint about the movie.
The story could have been almost any type, and I still think the movie would have been good. It was the characters and the actors portraying them that sold the whole movie and the story. All of the characters worked so well together that it seemed that it was a real situation, not just some movie to watch. This is a movie that could maybe turn a person into more of a sci-fi fan.

I really liked it. I think this is a movie to own. Enjoy.
