Charlie and his class are in Romania studying Art History. He has just broken up with his girlfriend, Amy, whom is also on the trip. Charlie's friend, Ed "Evil", is going to be rooming with him. Across the street in the next building, Charlie watches a female vampire bite into another woman. On the first day of the class, he sees the woman again. She is the professor of the class. She goes by the name Gerri Dandridge. Charlie goes all stupid and sneaks into her home to make sure it was true. She sees him watching her spill the blood of a woman to bath in. Peter Vincent is in the area filming a new show, so they look him to get some help. Charley and "Evil" Ed must stop Gerri from drinking and bathing in the blood of a "new moon virgin," which just so happens to be Amy.
This was a combination of the first two original movies. You would think that would not work, but in this case it worked very well. This movie has nothing to do with the Fright Night remake. They changed the spelling and the gender of the vampire, which if you remember in the original sequel it was his sister. They brought back the "Evil" Ed character, which was completely left out in the first remake. They kept Charlie and Amy's characters, but Amy was not in the sequel at all. Charlie had a different girlfriend. Peter Vincent hosts a reality television show on vampires in this one. It is the telling of Elizabeth Báthory as a vampire and in the modern day. I am so over analyzing this movie.
I was excepting a terrible abortion, but it was a pretty good movie. It's a sequel, but this movie can stand on its own. It's bloody and violent in all the right ways. Watch this with someone you love. Enjoy.
